It is always a challenge to work in a way that is ethical and is in line with ones values, if those do not align with the system we live in. I of course encounter the same struggle. Whilst earning a living from decolonial work feels inherently counterproductive, I want to help people on their decolonial journeys, and I equally have to survive under capitalism. With Beyond the Buzzword I am trying to find a balance with providing public function through accessible public education, and equally trying to finding ways to be be able to provide sustainably free educational materials and expertise to make a living that allows me to continue to provide the public services as well. As I continue to work on this project, I will change and adapt as much as needed to work and live in the most ethical and conscious manner.
